Work In Progress

Activity is still ongoing at the King City Library! Scroll down to see what the site looks like now with our most recent progress report.

The property is getting prepared for the new building, and we’re looking forward to when we get to see those pictures as well!

Have You Been?

The temporary King City location has been opened for little more than a week now. Have you had a chance to check-out our new, temporary, location yet? If not, come visit us, we are open our regular hours for your convenience and we would love to see you!

Also, a reminder to return any materials you had checked-out during the temporary closure as the fine forgiveness will only continue for a short while to let everyone settle in to the new location.

The drop box is always open should you wish to return items when the library is closed.

Temporary Location is Now Open

September is always a new and exciting month; summer has come to an end, school starts up again and this year our King City temporary location is open!

Come see for yourself how we’ve transformed the lower level of the King City Seniors Center into our newest (temporary) Library space. We’ve brought as much as we can for your convenience and, as always, if we don’t have it we will find it for you.

The temporary location is 30 Fisher Street but is best accessed through the King City arena parking lot on Doctor’s Lane. Our hours have remained unchanged to make this transition even easier for you, and we have a drop-box for your convenience in returning any checked-out items when the Library is closed.

A reminder that all items checked-out before our move are due back at the end of this week, Friday, September 7th but due to the speed at which everything happened all fines will be forgiven during this settling phase.

Progress Continues

While we’ve been moving in and getting settled in our new location, our 1970 King Road location has been going through some big changes! It has been hard to say goodbye to such a loved building, but getting to see the area being prepared for our new building has been thrilling!

We are excited to watch it transform into a space that still has everything you loved about the Library with some new additions that we know will ensure that our Library is accessible and welcoming to all!

Demolition is Complete

We are both sad and excited to announce that the King City Library has been demolished. We are thrilled to be getting a new library, but it is always melancholy to say good-bye to something we’ve known for so long and have so many fond memories with.
